First Impressions

Last week we started a new subject in our last course of our degree: Didáctica de la Lengua Inglesa.
With this subject we are supposed to learn how to teach, how to use different tools in order to improve our classes and our way to explain the contents, to know our law: how it works, how we have to put on the law in our daily life at work etc.

The fist day we introduce the subject and we realized that this subject is very similar to another subject that we had the last year, but we are going to see more things, more deeply and with more time. Then our teacher showed us a video called "Keepers of the flame". Here you have the video if you want to see it:

In this video we can see that our job, to be a teacher, is compared to be a keeper of a flame. That flame is the soul of our students and we have to protect them, to help them, to encourage that flame to be greater, bigger and better. Teachers spend a lot of time with their children, for some child his or her teacher is almost everything. We have to be everything for our students, be there for them always and try to be the better teacher for them. Our job is not only to pass information, our job is too to educate the soul, the heart, the emotions and this video is an incredible example of how important is our job.

Conclusions

Today I want to give my general opinion about the course, I want to summarize all the things that I have learnt and my feelings about all the tools and contents that we have seen. In all the pages of this diary I´ve tried to give always my opinion about everything, to explain how I feel when I am doing the activities or when I am discovering a new tool that I could use in the future with my children. First of all, I want to talk about this tool, the blog. I think it is necessary to put all your knowledge about something in this kind of tools because when you are writing, when you are doing it you are seeing if you really have learnt something useful during the course or not. A blog is also a very good resource in order to improve our skills in ICT and for our students too. Speaking more freely

This chapter is about speaking, as well as the last one. In this we are going to se some tips in order to teach how to speak without fear, without that pressure that you have sometimes because you are thinking if you are doing it well or not. In speaking with kids it is not important if they talk well or bad, if they use the gramatical estructures or not, it only matters TO SPEAK.  >> Starting to speak freely Children generally like to talk about themselves, and to hear their classmates doing the same.
